Certified Pedorthist
Canadian Certified Pedorthist – C. Ped (C) – are one of very few healthcare professionals who are trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and biomechanics. They are experts in designing, fitting and modifying custom made orthotics and orthopaedic footwear
Canadian Certified Pedorthists undergo a rigorous education and training process in order to be certified by The College of Pedorthics of Canada.
To become a Canadian Certified Pedorthist – C. Ped (C) – a candidate must first complete a University degree that includes courses in the area of anatomy, biomechanics/gait analysis, medical conditions/diseases, physical assessment and ethics. The post-graduate training and examination process includes biomechanics, anatomy, pathomechanics, orthotic fabrication and modification, and footwear fitting and modification.
Brace & Compression Fitter
Deanna Zelinka is trained in brace fitting for custom and off-the-shelf bracing including:
- Knee bracing for: ACL/ MCL/ PCL sprain/strains/ tears, OA unloaders, meniscus pain, patellar fractures, patella-femoral syndrome, bursitis, Baker's cyst, swelling, pre/ post-operative transitional braces for weight bearing.
- Ankle bracing for: Chronic instabilities, post operative swelling, athletic semi-rigid support, AFOs for foot drop, Achilles pain, OA, bursitis
- Lumbar & Thoracic bracing: Multiple options for chronic and acute pain & post-operative braces
- Elbow/ wrist/ thumb bracing & forearm compression
- Medical grade compression stockings: Class 1,2 and 3 graduated compression; knee high, thigh high, full pantyhose. Sports compression, therapeutic & diabetic compression.
- Bunion & plantar fascia splints
* All brace fitting requires a no charge consultation appointment
* Nearly all braces meet insurance requirements, but will require a medical prescription from your Physician, surgeon, physiotherapist or chiropractor prior to dispensing.
* All custom-made braces are made in Germany and require a 10-15 business day turn-around - so please plan ahead.
* A $40 fitting fee will be applied to all special orders and custom orders
* After initial fitting, Brace adjustments and re-fits are free of charge
* Brace fit guarantee and no questions asked replacement of any possible manufacturers defects.
Kinesiology
The practice of kinesiology is the assessment of human movement and performance and its rehabilitation and management to maintain, rehabilitate or enhance movement and performance.

For example, the Public Health Agency of Canada found that “Physical activity has been shown to reduce the risk of over 25 chronic conditions.” Those include coronary heart disease, diabetes, certain types of cancer, high blood pressure, strokes, Alzheimer's disease and certain mental health conditions. As experts in human movement and exercise science, Kinesiologist’s can help develop, improve and sustain healthy exercise and physical activity habits to help prevent chronic disease
